Happy 1st Birthday, Bella!!!

My sweet sweet little princess, Isabella...
Can you believe it?! A year ago on Nov. 14th, 2007, you into this world 5 weeks earlier than expected and Daddy and Mommy were so scared and worried for you. Remember all the days you spent in Mommy's belly? That was an exciting time, huh? We did lots of things together, like mommy scarring you after falling from the kitchen stool (no wonder Daddy's colleagues call Mommy a bubble girl!) or doing the MRI, which made you going crazy inside of me. Fun times! :-) But after all the worries and sometimes scary moments, I remember the very first time I saw you at the NICU in Florida hospital (after Nana Do stood in front of another baby for five seconds thinking 'this baby doesn't look anything like my son or daughter-in-law') and you were so so tiny little and I could see your chest moving up and down from your tiny breathing. Mommy was a little unconscious from two epidural shots that she got earlier that day before surgery, but I could see how beautiful and precious you were and Mommy thanked God for your safe arrival to this world. Mommy loved you long before that day but I loved you even more then.
Mommy and Daddy didn't know what we were doing at first really (do you remember the first ride home at your humongous car seat? Yes, Mommy and Daddy didn't have a good time...), but mother instinct kicked in soon after for me and with Jesus' help, you had a fabulous first year, I must say. We were so blessed to take you many different places including Mommy's home county, Korea, to see all your relatives. Everywhere we went, you made friends with everybody and everybody loved you. How could they not? You are just so adorable and cute and Mommy is not biased at all! Even Nana Do says the same thing after we spend time with other babies and she's not biased at all either, of course. :-) Oh, little one, only if you know how much you are loved....
Of course, Daddy, who think he's one of the kids (ask Ethan when you grow up), has changed and he's been the best Daddy in the whole wide world for you. You and I are so blessed to have him and don't forget to thank God for Daddy when you learn to do your prayers. Daddy loves everything you do and he's most happy to see you get excited (literally with the whole body shaking and everything) when you see him in the morning or when he gets home from work. You have the biggest smile on your face and your legs kick like crazy when he lifts you up. I bet he can't wait for you to walk and run so that you can just run up to him and give him the biggest hugs when he walks in the door. You are his little precious princess and although he threatens that he'll send you to a convent when you grow up so that you won't know boys or have anything to do with them, he loves you dearly and wants to protect you and keep you safe forever if he could. As he always says, God loves you the most but Daddy is second and so is Mommy, darling.
Happy birthday, my dear, and I can't wait to celebrate many more. Yes, you can have your opinion about your birthday when you turn 3 maybe, but for now, you are having a Cinderella birthday cake made by your Godmother for your first birthday.
